Could Solar Energy Stocks Make You Rich?

Some solar energy stocks have been touted as the next Microsoft or Apple. And it's easy to see why!

Just for a minute, imagine a world in which all our homes and buildings no longer need an outside source of electricity. All our energy requirements are generated completely free with no negative impact on the environment.

Now, imagine you had invested some money in a company that had helped to make it all happen. A company that now stands at the forefront of these solar technologies for millions of homes for decades to come.

It doesn't seem so far-fetched does it? Let's face it, we're at the beginning of a complete energy revolution that will change the way we live.

So Which Solar Energy Stocks Should I Invest In?

Well, this is the big question. Many new technologies never make it to market. The ones that do though can make their investors fortunes.

As the competition heats up, many solar companies will be forced to lower prices to compete, and some smaller and cashstrapped producers will be forced out.

In order to successfully invest in solar energy stocks, you'll have to know which companies are best positioned to succeed in this climate.

And the climate looks very sunny indeed!

Massive Growth

  • The silicon-based solar energy market is expected to increase by 38% annually through 2013.
  • The cadmium telluride market, which is the technology used by First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR), is expected grow at the same rate.
  • But the biggest growth is expected in the new thin-film market based on CIGS and CIS, copper indium gallium selenide and copper indium diselenide. This has been predicted to grow by a whopping 96% in the next few years.
  • Expert Advice

Well, I'm no expert but I can point you in the direction of people who are. There are a number of websites out there who claim that they can make you rich. I'd be very wary of most of them.

As you know, the stock market can be very volatile, especially in new technologies so I'd go with the tried and trusted.

One of the first online investor resources providing in-depth information on renewable energy and greentech industries were Investor Ideas . One of the portals inside Investor Ideas is 'Renewable Energy Stocks' which provides investors with the latest stock news, exclusive articles and financial columnists, audio interviews, investor conferences and a directory of stocks within the renewable energy sector. But if you do go and invest, please make sure you don't invest money you can't afford to lose. And always do your own research as well.
