However, there are things we can do to slow done this change. Here are a few obvious things you can do.
1. Drive less. Ride a bike or walk whenever possible. Less emmissions equals less pollution.
2. Replace all the lightbulbs in your home with energy-efficient ones. This is easy and inexpensive to do.
3. Purchase energy-efficient appliances when it's time to replace old ones.
4. Decrease your air travel. It's one of the biggest polluters.
5. Line-dry your clothes instead of using a tumble-dryer whenever possible. Obviously you can't do this on a rainy day. This is solar energy at its most basic.
6. Unplug electronic appliances when they are not in use, because they still take up lots of energy. Maybe buy a solar energy battery charger.
7. Insulate your home better. Insulate your water heater.
8. Buy recycled paper products and recycle as much of your waste as possible. This includes cans and bottles.
9. Take your own reusable canvas grocery bags when grocery shopping. Many supermarkets supply them now.
10. Plant a tree. They are our life source.
11. Shop locally for food. If it's not had to travel a long distance to get to the shelves then it's more environmentally friendly.
12. Eat less meat. The amount of food produced for cattle is staggering and actually counter-productive.
13. Invest in renewable energy such as solar energy. Solar energy can save you loads of energy and money. If you are interested in installing solar, I have teamed up with Amazon UK and Amazon US to bring you the very best deals on solar products. For our US store click here. For our UK store click here.
So, as you see, preventing global warming is possible if we all get together and implement small changes to the way with live. That is the challenge though.
Just making small changes to the way we live can make all the difference in preventing global warming.
