DTI in conjunction with the
Energy Savings Trust
provides solar grants and loans towards the installation costs of PV solar panels to generate electricity.
The DTI’s
low carbon buildings
programme will run over three years and replaces the previous DTI Clear Skies and Solar grant programmes.
This scheme is open to households, public, not for profit and commercial organisations across the UK (except the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), the programme will demonstrate how energy efficiency and microgeneration can work together to create low carbon buildings.
Solar Water HeatingWood Fuel BoilersAutomated Wood Pellet Stoves Ground Source Heat PumpsWind and Micro-Hydro powerTo be eligible for solar grants for residential solar power you will need to use a certified installer and products. Low cost methods such as this DIY solar kit are not eligible for solar grants but they only cost a fraction of the price anyway.
