Bio Photovoltaic Cells

Bio photovoltaic cells are made from a breakthrough technology used to produce bioplastic materials from renewable plant sources which could revolutionize the solar industry by reducing the cost per watt of solar cells.

Mostly, the solar industry has been looking towards photovoltaic efficiency to reduce cost.

Biosolar, however, is the first company to introduce cost reduction by replacing petroleum-based plastic solar cell components with plastic-based bio photovoltaic cells. BioSolar intends to produce strong products that meet the stringent requirements of existing manufacturing processes.

Whichever way solar cells are produced, BioSolar can help reduce the cost per watt through the use of its lower cost bio- based plastics meaning the cost of solar photovoltaic energy will be affordable to everyone.

Today, petroleum-based plastics are standard, so removing petroleum from solar cells in this way makes solar energy a true green source of energy.

But the cost of these plastics is rising due to increasing oil prices. This flies in the face of the solar industry’s effort to reduce costs of solar energy.

Petroleum-based plastics are not environmentally friendly. With these new cells being produced, this will change and at the same time help to cut the cost of solar cells.
