Arizona Solar Power

The potential for Arizona solar power is immense. Arizona has enough all year sunshine to power the entire country. Yet solar energy is used in less than half of 1% of the state's power. When compared to California, its way behind.
California and New Jersey, for example, offer rebates and incentives for residential solar power systems that are more appealing than anything offered to Arizona residents. However, that's about to change... After watching many less sunny states plough forward with solar initiatives, Arizona is finally to expand its use of solar power dramatically in the next few years, with a minimum of 5% of the state's energy by 2025 to come from projects like rooftop panels. With Arizona's energy demands growing at a furious rate, the need for alternative sources of power is of the utmost importance. "It's just a prime place for solar. It's the best in the United States, there's no doubt," said Larry Kazmerski, director of the National Center for Photovoltaics at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo. Meeting the targets set out by various governing bodies means that more rooftop panels will be popping up on homes. There are even proposals for communities to have solar panels on every rooftop which would connect to one another and the whole system would tie to a main grid. And there are loads of techniques for implementing renewable energy installations for your home without it costing you the earth.
